Structure of the DELE A2 Speaking Test

The test has three tasks:

1. Presentation (2–3 minutes)

You prepare a short monologue. You choose one of two topics.

  • Goal: speak continuously with a simple structure (start → details → close).
  • Tip: use 3 connectors: “primero”, “después”, “por último”.
  • 2. Describe a photo (2–3 minutes)

    You describe a daily-life photo.

  • What to include: place, people, actions, simple opinion.
  • Tip: add guesses: “Creo que…”, “Parece que…“
  • 3. Conversation with the interviewer (3–4 minutes)

You interact in a simulated situation based on the photo from Task 2.

  • What they test: asking/answering questions, politeness, basic negotiation.
  • Tip: prepare polite formulas: “¿Podría…?”, “Me gustaría…”, “¿Cuánto cuesta?”
  • Official Evaluation Criteria

    The official criteria are:

    1. Use of language (Uso de la lengua) Vocabulary and grammar appropriate to A2.

    2. Task achievement (Cumplimiento de la tarea) Completing what is asked and maintaining interaction.
