The DELF B2 is the most requested diploma to work or study in France. But the Production Orale test is subjective and difficult to self-measure. Do you have enough fluency? Are your mistakes permissible or fatal for level B2?

DELF B2 Preparation Checklist
Argumentation Capacity: Can you take a short document, identify the issue, and give your structured opinion for 5-7 minutes without reading a script?
Self-correction: When you make a mistake (“Je a allé… pardon, je suis allé”), do you correct yourself? This is vital in B2. It demonstrates control.
Use of Logical Connectors: Do you use Cependant, En revanche, Par ailleurs, En conclusion? If you only use Et, Mais, Aussi, you are still at level B1.
Interaction in the Debate: Can you defend your point of view when the examiner contradicts you, without getting nervous and using polite formulas (“Je comprends votre point de vue, mais…”)?

The key difference between B1 and B2
Many students take the B2 with a B1 mindset. The main difference is not just vocabulary, but the complexity of the speech.
In B1, you tell anecdotes and solve daily situations. In B2, you must argue and convince. If you are asked about ecology, it is not enough to say “we have to recycle”. You must talk about economic impact, social impact, and individual vs collective responsibility.
